General Information

Does Dr. Baumal take my insurance plan?
Our office accepts most insurance plans from common vision care providers. These include Aetna, Allways health Partners, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, EyeMed, HarvardPilgrim HealthCare, NVA (National Vision Administrators), Spectera, Superior Vision, United Healthcare and more. We also accept vision insurance from several area colleges.

How long does an eye exam take?

An eye exam usually takes about 30 min.

How long does it take to get my new eyeglasses?

Our onsite laboratory can usually make your prescription eyeglasses in about an hour. Our available lenses include no-line bi-focals, transitional and high index varieties. Non-prescription polarized sunglasses are also available, as well as prescription sunglasses.

What are Dr. Baumal’s hours for eye exams?

Our office is open Monday thru Friday 10:30 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 11:oo am until 5:00 pm .

We can schedule your appointment over the phone (617-236-5500) or online, for your lunch hour, or even after work.

What eye care services does this office provide?

Dr. Baumal offers comprehensive eye exams, contact lens exams, eyeglasses and contact lens sales, and vision care advice and materials.

He can diagnose and treat any ocular disease, injury or condition, including dry eyes and allergies. We screen for glaucoma and cataracts, as well as diabetes, high blood pressure and other systemic diseases that affect your eye health. We also can fit and adjust frames, and make repairs.

Where is Dr. Murray Baumal’s office?

Dr. Baumal’s office is at 607 Boylston Street, in copley square in the heart of Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood.
His office is located within Cohen’s Fashion Optical. It is right across from Trinity Church, and diagonally across from the Boston Public Library. We are easily accessible by public transportation with the copley (green Line) and back bay (orange line) stations just block two away.

Dr Baumal’s hours are from 10:30am-6:00pm Monday-Friday and Saturdays 10:30am-5:00pm.
